Replacement of screen on Dell G3 15 screen made by LaptopScreen.com

Tools

For the replacement process we will need the following tools: plastic pick, and tweezers

Shut down the laptop

To begin shut down the laptop and disconnect the power cord

Remove the bezel

Now we can remove the bezel. Start from the left side. Gently pulling the inner edge of
the bezel away from the glass. Once the edge is unsnapped go around the perimeter
unsnapping the tabs at the top, right side and the bottom. Release the hinge cover
and put the bezel aside

Remove adhesive strips

The LCD screen is held in-place with two strips of double-sided adhesive, and there are
two plastic pull tabs that should allow you to pull the strips out. Using tweezers pick the
right tab and start pulling the adhesive away releasing the right side of the screen.
Discard the used adhesive strip. Repeat the same action on the left side of the LCD
screen

Disconnect the video cable

Place the LCD screen on the keyboard. Using plastic pick and fingers peel the clear
tape securing the video connector. Open the connector,s bracket and using both hands
disconnect the cable. Remove the piece of a sticky tape under the video connector but
keep it, we are going to reuse it with a new screen. Discard the old LCD screen

Connect the new screen

At this point the new screen can be installed. Place the screen on the keyboard and
reconnect the video cable. Close the connector’s bracket and
secure it with clear tape. CAUTION! It is very important not to force any connectors.
As well you must not twist or slant the connector when plugging it in

Reinstall the new screen using new adhesive strips

Your new LCD screen is likely to come with no adhesive. We offer standard double-sided
tape for such repairs on our site: https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/section/tools/
Before we can apply adhesive strips we have to thoroughly clean the surfaces, both on
LCD screen and back cover. Use alcohol and paper towel or any other soft material.
Apply adhesive strips to the back cover insuring that pull tabs will be loose under the
new screen. Remove the protective film. Lift the screen up and press firmly along the
edges to catch the adhesive. Secure the cable with a piece of sticky tape

Test the new screen

At this point we can test the new screen. Reconnect the power cord and turn the laptop
on. If the start up graphics appear, the screen is working and we can finish the
replacement process

Replace the bezel

Turn the laptop off. Remove the protective film from the new LCD screen. Start replacing
the bezel. Go along the perimeter pressing firmly to snap tabs back in place. Support the
back cover with one hand and snap the bezel along the hinge cover. Turn the laptop over
and make sure the hinge tabs are snapped.

Reconnect the power cord. Turn the laptop on and we are done!
